Abrams is a tank which US uses in Battlefield Play4Free. In terms in the game, T-90 and M1A2 has about has the same firepower, armor, and about same mobility. But the Abrams is little slower than the T-90 and bigger. But it has easier sights to aim and it weak spot is hidden bellow the gun. But both tanks have more HP then other land vehicles (1000hp). It heavy armor makes the tank useful for attacking the enemy and to capture flags. It great for destroying other vehicles with it main gun (up to 300HP damage to vehicles).
To use the coaxial gun in the tank you must get training. To use the Coaxial Gun right click.
There are 2 seats in the tank. 1 for the driver than can use the main gun and the coaxial gun. And other on the top that uses the .50cal Machine Gun. The person mounting to .50cal MG as able to crouch underneath the turret to protect him self from incoming fire since the gunner is fairly exposed when he is outside manning the MG.
This vehicle is supposed to support infantry, destroy enemy armor and help push the battle forward. This is what the driver manning the turret and coxial MG must do.
The player manning the .50 Cal MG up top should be assisting the tank by watching it's flanks and rear for sneaky infantry. The player should also help with suppressing fire if the tank is having trouble keeping the enemy behind cover by it's self.
History of M1A2 Abrams
The M1 Abrams was developed during the Cold War as a successor to the cancelled MBT-70. The M1 Abrams contract went to Chrysler Defense and was the first vehicle to adopt Chobham armor. Chobman armor is downgraded Composite armor that was used by the British on their Challenger 2 tank (It uses Chobman 2 armor). It also includes Depleted Uranium armor which adds extra protection to the armor. Abrams has great frontal armor (about 1400RHA) but really weak side armor (400RHA). Abrams uses the Germany made L44 M256 120mm smoothbore gun. France uses more powerful gun, the L55 120mm smoothbore. Upgrades after the Gulf War improved the tank's weapons sights and fire control unit. The subsequent insurgency exposed the tanks vulnerability to rocket-propelled grenades and mine. The M1A2 was a further improvement of the M1A1 with a commander's independent thermal viewer, weapon station, position navigation equipment, and a full set of controls and displays linked by a digital data bus. These upgrades also provided the M1A2 with an improved fire control system. The M1A2 System Enhancement Package (SEP) added digital maps, FBCB2 capabilities, and an improved cooling system to compensate for heat generated by the additional computer systems. The M1A2 SEP also serves as the basis for the M104 Wolverine heavy assault bridge.
